ADVANCED WORKSHOPS
Presented by Nanci Bell and Phyllis Lindamood

The Advanced Workshops are designed for those who have already attended the introductory workshop for the program; such attendance is prerequisite. Attend an Advanced Workshop and receive answers to your questions from the authors of the programs.
REVIEW OF THEORY
The theory behind Lindamood-Bell’s groundbreaking programs is reviewed. When difficult questions come up regarding step implementation, pacing, or group work, referring to the program theory can help determine the answer.
REVIEW OF STEPS
Lindamood-Bell’s programs are designed with sequential steps to develop sensory-cognitive processing. Each step is reviewed and discussed to ensure that the integrity of the program is understood and implemented for success.
STUDENT PACING
Case studies are utilized to analyze student progress with the programs and determine the student’s readiness for the next program steps. Appropriate pacing is crucial to student progress.
CONTENT APPLICATION
Lindamood-Bell’s programs can easily be applied to content. The workshops present suggestions for applying specific program steps to content and classroom activities.
APPLYING THE PROGRAMS TO GROUPS
Applying program instruction to groups of students––small and large––is a common challenge. Discussion illustrates how the programs can be implemented beyond the standard one-to-one instructional model and still be effective. The necessary modifications in teacher expectations and program steps are explored.
