San Luis Obispo, CA, December 13, 2011- Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, an internationally recognized leader in literacy research, remediation, and professional development, held their 2nd annual Thank-A-Thon to support soldiers serving overseas. Lindamood-Bell® students and staff, from their 49 Learning Center locations throughout the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia, were joined by neighboring schools to create thousands of thank you cards and letters. The cards will be included in care packages assembled by Operation Gratitude and sent to deployed U.S. Service members, their children at home, and to recuperating Wounded Warriors. 

 

Below are some of the messages written during the Thank-A-Thon:

 

“All of the Lindamood-Bell® Learning Centers are so pleased to be able to show our support for our Service members. It is gratifying for all of us to help bring joy to all the men, women, and children who are making sacrifices for our country,” says Alison Bell, Director of Learning Centers.

Operation Gratitude annually sends 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind, and to wounded soldiers recuperating in Transitions Units. Of all the items included in these packages, the most cherished are the personal letters of appreciation. It is a simple and meaningful way to show appreciation to those who are serving in the armed forces.
