Renowned Educational Speaker to Host Presentation in Monterey

San Luis Obispo, Calif., May 23, 2008 – The Lindamood-Bell® Learning Center in Monterey will be hosting a special presentation on June 3 at 6:00pm with Co-Founder Nanci Bell, author of the acclaimed educational programs for individuals with learning difficulties.

Nanci Bell, MA, is the author of critically acclaimed educational programs including Visualizing and Verbalizing for Language Comprehension and Thinking®, Seeing Stars®, On Cloud Nine® Math, and Talkies®. She is recognized for pioneering the research that connects mental imagery to reading and language skills. Nanci is a renowned speaker at international research conferences, including the International Dyslexia Association, Learning Disabilities Association, and M.I.N.D. Institute. In January 2008, Nanci launched a Campaign for Comprehension through a live video conference, broadcasted to all 42 Lindamood-Bell® Learning Center locations across the U.S. and in London, U.K. The campaign aims to raise awareness about comprehension weaknesses, which are often overlooked or not addressed when individuals are struggling with reading and learning.

These programs develop a person's sensory connection to language, focusing on process-based, intensive instruction, rather than content-based (subject-specific) tutoring.
