International Dyslexia Association 62nd Annual Conference
November 9-12, 2011
Lindamood-Bell will be presenting "The Effect of Imagery and Verbal Processing on Memory, Comprehension, and Reading" at the upcoming IDA International Conference this November in Chicago, IL. The theme of this year's conference is "Reading, Literacy, and Learning!" and takes place at the Hilton Chicago, November 9-12. Angelica Benson will present Thursday, November 10th.

Council For Learning Disabilities
October 27-28, 2011
Lindamood-Bell will be presenting "Successful District Reform Through Professional Development" at the 33rd International Council For Learning Disabilities Conference.  Paul Worthington will present on October 27th & 28th in Austin, Texas.
Marin Affiliate of the National Association of Educational Therapists
September 16, 2011
Marin Learning Center Director Kat Vaughan will be providing a presentation on Lindamood-Bell's model of language processing instruction on September 16, 2011 to a group of educators and therapists at the  Cape Marin Clubhouse.  The Marin affiliate of the national Association of Educational Therapists meets monthly and Ms. Vaughan will be leading the discussion from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.

September 19-21, 2011
Fairmount Elementary School opened in 2010 in a new building with a majority of students at risk for reading failure. A partnership with an approved Race to the Top provider began that focused on developing teacher and instructional leadership skills as aligned to an evidence-based, cognitive model. Through an aggressive professional-development approach, great success was realized. This presentation will highlight the model used, challenges, and success of this high-poverty, rural school in Tennessee.

For the second year in a row, Lindamood-Bell has been accepted to present at Florida Reading Association's Annual Fall Conference. Lynn Flowers will present "What Can We Do About Adolescent Literacy?" at this year's conference in Orlando Florida, September 9-11.
June 7-9, 2011
Lindamood-Bell will be presenting "Process-Based School Improvement" at The Memphis City Schools' Urban Education Center's (UEC) Forum for Innovative Leadership in Memphis.  The UEC takes a comprehensive approach to improving the quality of education for students by developing a cadre of school leaders committed to eliminating the achievement gap. The UEC has four major programs developed and aligned to meet the needs of urban schools. Those programs are: Forum for Innovative Leadership, the Executive Leadership Program,  the Summer Institutes, and LeaderShare.

June 2-4, 2011
Nanci Bell will be presenting "Stimulating Concept Imagery, a Dual-Coding Approach for Comprehension" for the British Dyslexia Association's  International Conference, "Beyond Boundaries."  The conference will be held in Harrogate June 2-4, 2011.  Ali Katos and Lynn Flowers will be co-presenting at the event. 

May 5-7, 2011
Dan Morgan will be hosting the presentation of a study, "The Influence of Imagery and Verbal Processing on Memory, Comprehension, and Decoding" at the Learning & the Brain's 29th Conference, "The Science of Student Success: Optimizing Achievement and Reducing Failure." The conference is May 5-7 in Chicago.

Michigan Learning Disabilities Association
November 15, 2010
Lindamood-Bell has been accepted to present at the LDA of Michigan. On November 15, 2010, Joel Cheney, the Center Director in Birmingham, will be presenting "Dual Coding Theory (DCT) Applied to Reading and Comprehension.”  The conference is in East Lansing, home of Michigan State University.

Nanci Bell's session titled, Comprehension instruction that integrates imagery and verbal processes results in student achievement, has been accepted for the IDA Annual Conference.  It will be held October 27--30, 2010 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Terri Mehl, Center Director in Sacramento, will be speaking on "Symbol Imagery: A Sensory-Cognitive Factor" at the local CHADD affiliates monthly meeting on October 5th.  The theme of the meeting is "ADHD & Learning Processes—Making a Difference!"

The 9th Annual Tennessee Educational LEADership Conference
September 20-22, 2010
The Tennessee Department of Education held its 9th Annual Tennessee Educational LEADership Conference at the Nashville Convention Center, September 20-22, 2010.  Educational leaders and administrators participated in the conference to help equip Tennessee educators with the tools to lead their schools into the next generation.
