Dear Friends,
It's me again, Beary Green, and as the official spokes-bear of Lindamood-Bell, I take grrr-eat
pleasure in updating you on our continued efforts in Greening our Learning Scene!
In addition to our initial greening efforts, I am pleased to report that we have implemented the
following activities and procedures over the past few months:
1. We celebrated our first ever Green Week where we educated our students at
each Learning Center about the importance of living an environmentally
conscious life.
2. We increased the use of paperless standardized forms.
3. We replaced water coolers with water filters.
4. We encouraged employees to incorporate greening activities into their own lives
by eliminating paper plates and napkins in their households, using green cleaning
products and Compact Fluorescent Lights (CFL's), and using waste-free products,
such as reusable lunchboxes, water bottles, coffee mugs, and shopping bags.
I am also proud to announce that Lindamood-Bell has been recognized for our efforts by being
awarded a Pollution Prevention award by the San Luis Obispo County Air Pollution Control District.
Visit our website at www.lindamoodbell.com/green to view a video clip explaining how our environmentally
friendly practices are making a difference in our community.
You can find my Beary Green Blog that charts our greening activities on our website at
www.lindamoodbell.com/green. You will also find a Beary Green suggestion box at each Learning
Center where you can share your ideas and suggestions.
We have come a long way in our greening efforts, but we still have quite a trek ahead of us. I invite
you to join our Green Team as we move together towards a healthier tomorrow.
As a good friend once told me. "Together we can do this, together we can do anything!"
Greenfully Yours,

Beary B. Green
