Are all of your Learning Centers alike?
Yes! We go to great lengths to make sure each Lindamood-Bell® Learning Center provides the same quality instruction in a positive, comfortable atmosphere. Our success comes from more than just our instructional programs, it also involves creating the right environment - lighting, furniture, personnel, comfort – all of these elements come together to create the Magic of Learning.
Is Lindamood-Bell based on Orton-Gillingham?
No. The instructional programs authored by the founders and directors of Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, Nanci Bell, Patricia Lindamood, and Phyllis Lindamood, have no affiliation with the Orton-Gillingham methodology.
Does Lindamood-Bell work with people diagnosed with dyslexia, hyperlexia, ADD, ADHD, CAPD, Asperger's Syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Developmental Delay, etc?
Yes, we do. In our Learning Centers , we often see children and adults previously diagnosed with these and other disorders or learning disabilities. It is important to note that we, at Lindamood-Bell, do not make these diagnoses – many of our students have been previously diagnosed by a medical professional.
Is there financing available for your services?
Yes. Click here to see what kind of financing options are available.
My child is in High School, is it too late to get help?
Not at all! We often work with high school and college students, as well as adults of all ages, and see phenomenal results. It is a common misconception that after a "certain" age the brain is not able to change. Current brain research proves that this is incorrect – this research has shown that the adult brain is still elastic and new neural pathways can be made. For more information on this research, click here for the article "Neural changes following remediation in adult developmental dyslexia."
What makes your Lindamood-Bell® Learning Center different from another center that offers "the Lindamood-Bell® programs"?
Our programs and instructional model are a living entity that we continually refine and improve based on current research data. Attending a Lindamood-Bell® Learning Center is the only way to ensure that you receive the instruction as the founders and authors of the "Lindamood-Bell® programs" intended. To further this, we have invested in state-of-the-art technology connecting all locations to maintain the highest levels of staff development and student instructional quality.
How is Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes different from others offering tutoring services?
Traditional tutoring typically offers students help with homework in specific content areas such as math or science. Our instruction focuses on developing the underlying processes necessary to read, comprehend, and process information, regardless of the content area. Often, a person is struggling because his or her brain does not take in information and process it efficiently. Weaknesses in the underlying sensory-cognitive processes can negatively impact performance at school or work.
