Lindamood-Bell and Caruthersville Public Schools Partnership: Outstanding Test Results

Caruthersville, MO, June 14, 2011 – This is the first year of implementation of a Lindamood-Bell Professional Learning Community (PLC) in Caruthersville. Evidence-based Lindamood-Bell® programs and processes were implemented to improve student performance. Two schools participated: Caruthersville Elementary and Caruthersville Middle School. The main focus was on Caruthersville Middle School in their Tier 3 intervention. However, we worked with the elementary school to "close the gap" on students entering middle school by providing intervention and classroom instruction at the elementary school level. Project highlights include 22 Caruthersville Middle School classroom teachers, both Principals, Curriculum Specialist, and all 26 Caruthersville Elementary School instructional staff, Principals and Curriculum Specialist attending the Lindamood-Bell Seeing Stars® and Visualizing and Verbalizing® workshops. Caruthersville Middle School provided 110 minutes of daily instruction for Tier 3 students. Caruthersville Elementary provided 90 minutes of daily instruction for Tier 3 students.
